Early Reading and Phonics

This seminar will be led by Alice Buller from Christchurch Junior School. Alice will outline to delegates the importance of phonics and early reading to enable children to become confident and fluent readers.

Session Outline: -

Throughout the course of this seminar, Alice will outline the importance of the following: -

· Stages of reading development

· Importance of phonics

· Reading for enjoyment

Delegates will learn the importance of phonics and early reading to enable children to become confident and fluent readers. They will also learn how to implement strategies to enable children to independently understand, learn from and enjoy a range of texts.

It would be beneficial for delegates to have had sight of the below document as thus will be referred to during the session.
